Thinking of Replacing your fence? Think Ahead!
PRIVACY, LASTING BEAUTY, DURABILITY
Trex Seclusions Fencing is revolutionary in its unique design. The interlocking pickets create a fully private board-on-board look that is low maintenance, won’t rot, resists insects and is backed by the Trex 25-year residential 10-year commercials warranty. Don’t worry about your next fence. Choose Trex.
No need for paint or stain. Trex eliminates back-breaking maintenance. Any desired clean up can be managed with soap and water.
WON’T WARP, ROT, OR CRACK
Interlocking pickets apply tension from top to bottom making the Trex Seclusions fence rigid and durable. Trex pickets link together and distribute pressure evenly eliminating the bowing, warping, and cracking that is common to other materials over time. It also won’t rot and resists insect damage. No more replacing rotted out fence posts.
TREX VS WOOD
Everyone loves the natural look of wood but hates all the painting, staining and sealing. Wood fencing of all types, including pressure-treated wood, cedar or redwood, require extensive upkeep. Trex was designed with the beauty of wood fencing, but not all the maintenance. Our high-performance, eco-friendly composite boards withstand years of sun, sleet and snow. Through it all, we have never felled a single tree. So when comparing composite fencing vs. wood, there’s no competition.
Whereas Trex is low-maintenance, wood fences:
- Can rot, split, swell, twist and fade
- Crack from insect infestation
- Require annual painting, staining or sealing
- Splinter easily
- Contribute to deforestation
TREX VS VINYL
Vinyl fencing is another low-maintenance alternative to wood. Just like composite, vinyl can resist rot, termites and mold. However, vinyl fencing is far less environmentally friendly, produced mostly from virgin plastic. Compare that to the ultra-green Trex board: made with 95% recycled materials and eco-friendly manufacturing processes, Trex never loses its sophisticated performance.
Whereas Trex keeps its beauty, vinyl fences:
- Are prone to chalking
- Are more likely to shrink and expand with temperature fluctuations than composites
- Become brittle over time and crack
- Are recommended for use with after-market cleaning products to maintain aesthetics over time
WHY A TREX® COMPOSITE FENCE IS GREEN
“WE HAVEN’T FELLED ONE TREE IN THE MAKING OF TREX HIGH-PERFORMANCE COMPOSITE FENCING. EVER.”
Trex fencing is made from 95% recycled materials. Installing a Seclusions fence not only saves trees but keeps valuable materials out of landfills. Trex is one of the largest plastic and wood recyclers in the world
We make Trex® eco-friendly composite fencing from an innovative blend of 96% recycled wood and plastic—that’s almost the whole thing. And we’ve been this way for more than 20 years, well before green was a buzzword. Because in the end, all of us want to look out on our fences and know that we’ve done our part. As one of the largest plastic recyclers in the U.S., Trex saves 400 million pounds of plastic and wood from landfills each year. In addition to contributing to a healthier environment, our eco-friendly composite fences also contribute to LEED points—not to mention your good karma.
Reclaimed wood that would otherwise end up in a landfill finds its way into Trex high-performance composite materials. By using reclaimed sawdust, we never have had to cut down a tree to make our products. Ever.
The recycled wood in our fences is combined with recycled plastic from a variety of sources ranging from the overwrap on paper towels to dry cleaner bags, sandwich bags, newspaper sleeves, and grocery and shopping bags. Here’s an interesting fact: the average 100-linear foot Trex composite fence contains 140,000 recycled plastic bags! That makes us one of the largest plastic bag recyclers in the U.S.
Trex’s proprietary, eco-friendly processing method eliminates the use of smoke stacks. Also, our factory runoff and refuse are recycled back into the manufacturing line. Our trailers even run on vegetable-based oil hydraulics.
THE BIG PICTURE
Trex works along with other U.S. Green Building Council members to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated with the goal of creating environmentally and socially responsible spaces that improve the quality of life.
With low-maintenance beauty and privacy from every angle, there is no substitution for a Trex composite fence. The Trex formula is tried and true to outlast and outperform all other fence materials. It’s the type of innovation and quality you expect from the leader in outdoor composite building products. Replace your fence for the last time. Replace it with Trex.
